Activate a service user for SharePoint On-Premise
Create a Service User
- Go to your Windows Server
- Add a dedicated user e.g. LexisCreateDMS@company.com . If you’re not familiar with this, your IT-partner definitely has experience with this.
Important: you should have an admin role in Microsoft to be able to add a user. The newly created user doesn't need to be an admin in SharePoint. The service user should have acces on Site level (not possible to give the service user access to a single folder).
Important: the service user should have Site.Read.All permissions.
Later this user account will be connected to Lexis® Create DMS. Therefore all files this account has access to, Lexis® Create DMS will also have access to.
