iManage On-Prem or iManage Work integration GUIDE

Step by step guide to integrate iManage On-Prem or iManage Work with Lexis® Create DMS

Integration requirements

  • iManage work server runs on version ≥ 10.2. 
  • WebDB (also known as a web database or a configuration library) needs to be configured on the iManage work server. 
  • The iManage on-premises instance must be exposed to the public internet on a secure URL.
    • The URL does not have to be the main iManage URL, it can be a specific URL for Lexis® Create DMS e.g. LexisCreateDMS.imanage.company.com.  
    • We advise applying IP whitelisting and only allow the Lexis® Create DMS IP addresses to connect to this URL. Ask your Lexis® Create DMS engagement manager to provide you with the IP addresses. 
    • HTTPS is required. Please check our Common Issues article to check the certificate requirements.

If this is not possible, reach out to your Engagement Manager to see what the possibilities are for your organization. 


  1. Configure the application
  2. Activate a service account to sync data
  3. Activate a service account to sync permissions (if this is required)
  4. Database review: Decide on what to synchronize 
  5. Connect via Lexis® Create DMS Portal 
  6. Deploy Word/Outlook Add-In 

By following the above steps your iManage On-Prem or iManage Work will be integrated with Lexis® Create DMS.

Important: Please ensure that your DMS API endpoint is accessible on port 443, port 8443, or port 9443.
