Labels are a powerful way to provide additional context to clauses or definitions. These labels, such as ‘template’ or ‘verified’ enable users to quickly recognise specific properties of a clause, shortening the decision process about which clause/definition to choose.
There are 2 ways to label clauses/definitions: either manually or rule-based.
Add labels manually
Permissions
- View labels: Labels are public and therefore every person in the organization (Administrator, Editor and Viewer) can view labels that are attached to clauses/definitions and use them as a search filter.
- Manage, assign, and remove labels: only Lexis® Create DMS Administrators and Editors have permission to create/delete a label and assign or remove a label to clauses/definitions
How to create a label?
- ❗Only a Lexis® Create DMS Administrator can create new labels
- Go to Settings in the bottom right corner

How to assign a label to a clause/definition
- ❗Only Lexis® Create DMS Administrators and Editors can assign labels

Rule-based labeling
To simplify the labeling process Lexis® Create DMS can automatically assign labels to clauses and definitions, based on file and/or folder name. Imagine your company stores documents in designated folders, such as ‘model contracts': with rule-based labeling, Lexis® Create DMS can automatically assign a label 'golden standard' to all clauses/definitions originating from contracts within that particular folder.
